Archive and Library
Since being set up as an autonomous Association, the “Ferruccio Busoni” Centre for Musical Studies has done everything possible to expand the small Busoni archive already existing in the House and to create a specialised library for 20th century music.
Recently, the acquisition of all published compositions by Busoni has been completed, and negotiations are now under way to obtain a copy of the unpublished works. The library contains studies, monographs, historical and analytical essays on the life and works of Busoni, as well as general reference books and specialised journals.
Thanks to a one-off contribution by the Municipality of Empoli, in 1994 the Centre was equipped with new library facilities permitting improved preservation and easier consultation of the collection. The on-line catalogue of holdings was also completed.
