Cultural Initiatives in Collaboration with Other Institutions
The “Ferruccio Busoni” Centre for Musical Studies promotes concerts and cultural initiatives with other musical institutions in the Florentine area and the Region of Tuscany.
The close collaboration with the Orchestra of Tuscany began when the Busoni Centre was reborn in 1989, and since then it has been a regular and highly successful partnership on both sides.
Besides the increasing presence of the Tuscan Regional Orchestra in the school and evening concerts organised by the Centre, there is a constant exchange of ideas between the two institutions and a strong drive towards artistic and organisational cooperation (culminating in the inauguration of the Busoni Days in 1996, broadcast live on RadioTre and including a composition by Fabio Vacchi given its first ever performance).
More recent is the collaboration with the Bartolomeo Cristofori Academy of Florence, which resulted in the joint organisation of some extremely interesting events in the Busoni Days of 1993 and 1994 (for example the day devoted to Charles Ives on 13 October 1994) and a concert in the context of the programme for the conference on Luigi Dallapiccola.
In 1996 a series of concerts for primary schools was organised with groups from the Fiesole Music School.
There was also a joint collaboration with the “A. Vivaldi” Conservatorium of Alessandria, who brought to Empoli some productions of their chamber opera festival “Scatola Sonora” (Musical Box).
For 1999 there was a similar collaboration with the “L. Cherubini” Conservatorium of Florence.
