1976 - The “Ferruccio Busoni” Centre for Musical Studies was created on the initiative of the Municipality of Empoli and the Province of Florence.
1986 - The Busoni Centre became an autonomous non-profit Association, in which the partners are the Municipality of Empoli and the Province of Florence.
Objectives
To spread in Italy and abroad knowledge of the life and works of Ferruccio Busoni.
To contribute to the study of the music of the 20th century, paying particular attention to the topics nearest to Busoni’s heart: the piano, transcription, opera, aesthetics.
To establish and maintain contacts with musical and university institutions and departments in Italy and abroad.
To promote study courses, seminars and conferences.
To organise musical and educational events.
To manage and enrich the museum, archive and library in the house where Busoni was born. |
